I make much more frequent local and online backups though, and made one just before upgrading my computer to Big Sur and then Lr11 but they overwrite previous catalogs and so it turns out that I gotten my very first corrupt backup after more than 10 yrs of using Lr.
So seemingly having no current backup, I was pretty bummed out. But then I thought to check my online backup that puts deleted files in a 30 day trash can. There was no catalog there though but as it turns out, the service keeps 5 versions of every file that can only be accessed via the web interface, and the second most recent version was OK and only a couple of hours old! I have the latest update from Loupedeck installed.
The new super-great masks do not work with the Loupedeck controls. When a mask is selected the Basic controls only work on the entire image not the masked area.
As normal all the adjustments work using the LRC onscreen sliders, just not with the Loupedeck controller knobs. Any suggestions welcomed. A new software version 5. But there seems to be issues in 5. They are currently working on a fix and aiming to release it soon. Hi Victoria, I just upgrade Lightroom to v11 on my iMac.
The new masking features are very helpful. The selection process is more accurate now. But, I am having issues in applying any local adjustments. They took forever and preview happens after seconds per adjustments. Even scrolling images is taking so much time. My work is a bit heavy on Camera Raws but I never had any issues in previous versions but now it is lowering down the productivity. It will be very helpful if you can share some tricks to solve that.
Your articles are always a big help to sharpen the skill set. Here is something new that I have noticed about LR v Can anyone comment on this? You can avoid by creating a new folder A and dragging just the photos if the scenario I mention is what you mean, else explain further please!
Many thanks for your response! I do not believe that earlier versions of LR pre v. Am I mistaken? If you move the parent folder, the subfolders go too. Anyone been working with it for awhile? Thanks Paul. Its should be easy for me to upgrade to Catalina but first I need to set up a Virtual Machine thing with Parallels to keep Mojave OS in order to run some 32 bit apps, most importantly my old scanner I use to get negatives into to my LR and PS workflow.
Support for Mojave ends Apple at the end of November, so no further security updates. Might be an addition reason to update. Hi I aggree with above comments that this is the most buggy version of LR I ever installed. It always says that LR has experienced a problem and needs to terminate — which after a while it then does. I reinstalled the latest graphics driver — which unfortunately made no difference. I also had random crasches and other unexpected behaviours.
But now it has been stable for a long period. Do you run English version of Lightroom? I changed from Swedish to English and after that — no crash whatsoever. Today there is an updated LR Before the update I was able to change the opacity of my presets. I cannot find the slider for the preset anywhere. Is this still avaolable and where am I missing it! You can change the amount of profiles in the Profile Manager, but not presets. That said, there is a fade preset feature currently in beta for ACR, so it should come to Lightroom in due course.
